Hi there,
My husband and I are going from Basilicata for a wedding this summer. The wedding is equidistant from both the Amalfi Coast area and most of Puglia. We've been torn between the two but have tentatively chosen the former as our main destination. I've come up with two itineraries and would appreciate any feedback on either. Any thoughts on feasibility or any other aspect would be greatly appreciated!
I wanted one longer stay at a beachy location for a bit of relaxation and went with Capri, but open to other suggestions. We're also very interested in seeing Ravello, Paestum, Herculaneum (have been Pompeii already years ago), the Naples Archaeological Museum and Caserta, but we realized we can't see it all given the limited time. We also love time by the beach so want to pick locations that allow an hour or two of swimming a day in addition to the sightseeing.
Here are the itineraries by day:
Itinerary 1
- Arrive in Naples at noon; pick up rental car and reach Ravello by 3pm; start tour of Cimbrone by 4pm
- Morning walk down to Lido di Ravello, quick swim, bus back up for checkout at 12pm, lunch in Ravello while hotel stores luggage; drive to Basilicata at 2pm - approx. 3 hours
