Campania Artecard app

We are in final preparation for our trip to Naples. In the past we have purchased the Artecard in various denominations. we have found it to be a great money-saver. Now the hard copy card is no longer available. The app delivers a QR code that is scanned at the different sites. Many users have had difficulty using the app, though, because of wifi issues and automatic logouts. I'm wondering if I can print the QR code to have a "hard copy" of the Artecard purchase and to avoid the issues with the app. If that doesn't work, have people been able to download the code or use a screenshot of it?

I guess this is progress.

In 2022, I had a hard time with the ArteCard app every time I tried to use it. I was on the verge of just buying tickets to the MANN when the gatekeeper just waved us through.

Your idea of printing the QR code sounds good to me, but it might be too simple and easy to actually work.

I bought the ArteCard within the app in March 2023. I wrote down the card number and/or the confirmation number as I worked through the purchase process. That was fortunate, because I had trouble opening the app at least once. The ticket person was happy to key in the number.

I don't know whether they'd be OK with scanning a printed barcode--maybe.

I would say it's worth a shot to just print out a QR code as a backup.

I found the app a bit problematic in some ways as well. At the castel sant Elmo their artecard scanner tablet was completely out of battery so I had to wait for them to recharge it enough for the tablet to power on.

In any case, make sure you have a data on your phone and keep your login credentials saved so you can log in when it logs you out 2-3 times per day.

If you have the code do you still have to log-in to the app?

The cards were so much easier.

And, did you purchase the card in the US or at an Infopoint or museum?

Don't try to buy the Campania card in person. I went to two different locations where it was supposed to be available, with no success. It was a waste of time. It's very easy to buy the card within the app--at least it was it was in 2023.
