Campania Artecard and Children

We (my 2 teens and I) will be in Salerno for 3 days in June. We plan on visiting Paestum, Pompeii, the Naples Archaeological Museum, and the Amalfi Coast. I am thinking about getting the 3 day Artecard for admissions and transportation. I am having trouble figuring out the Campania Arte Card as it pertains to children. On the website I could not find any information for children under the age of 18. I am assuming they are not covered.

Has anyone used this card when travelling with children? How did you handle transportation for the children? Just buy separate tickets? It looks like some, if not all, the sites we would visit will have free admission for those under 18. I am just trying to figure out if it makes sense to buy.

I would appreciate any advice.

Kids under 18 do get in free to Italian state-run museums and archaeological sites, so you'd just need transportation for them. This has been working for non-EU citizens for a few years, although you may see some confused language, like this from the Pompei web site:

Free admission
directly at the ticket office of the exhibition venues, through presentation of a document proving one of the following conditions:

  • the European Union's citizens, under 18;

  • to non-EU minors ( Waiting for a coherent regulatory compliance with the law and with international obligations, the Minister Bray has mandated that all offices of the department to immediately incorporate these assessments, thus allowing free entry to state museums also to non-EU minors );

Thanks, Laura. I found the websites confusing also! I appreciate the information.
