Campania arte card

Is it best to buy this on arrival to Naples or to buy on line ahead of time? We plan to purchase the three day card which includes some transportation. We have three nights in Naples in late April and plan on using one of our days to go to Pompeii and Herculaneum. Thanks for your replies ahead of time.

This last spring my wife and I bought ours at the airport.
Used it same-day for Pompeii and the trains.

Run the numbers to see if it actually makes sense for your trip. Train fare to Herculaneum and Pompeii on the Circumvesuviana is really cheap.

Here are all the places you can visit with the arte card.

With just the two sites you mention, it defiantly makes sense.

Pompeii 15€. Circumvesuvian 5,60€ R/T

Ercolano 11€. Circumvesuvian 7,80€ R/T

If you decide to add...

Naples Archeological Museum. 1/2 price 7,50€
Circumvesuvian 7,90€

We visited the Archaeology Museum, Pompeii and Paestum
So, 2 were free and one was 1/2 price.
ALL train rides were, in essence fee because the ArteCard had already paid for itself. Also, didn't need to purchase train tickets till the 4th day - so saved the hassle there.
