Campagna Artecard

Hello
We are trying to decide about purchasing the Campagna ArteCard (the regional one) for 7 days. We will be in Sorrento for 6 nights and traveling exclusively using train and bus. It seems the Artecard would be a good deal for us- planning to visit the MANN and a few sites in Napoli as well as Pompeii. We plan to bus to Ravello and Positano from Sorrento. Can we buy the card once we arrive at Ghirabaldi? Does it include all train and bus travel (I see the newer campagna express is 10E plus card)? Any drawbacks? Thank you!

We used the Artecard on a short trip to Sorrento with visits to Pompeii and Herculaneum on separate days and train return to Naples. Planned to visit Naples museum and take the bus along the Amalfi Coast but just enjoyed hanging out in Sorrento. Yes, bus and trains covered as well as a number of sights.

Marie,

Please note...the 7 day card does NOT include transportation.
The 3 day does.
Dependent on the sights you wish to see, it may, in the long run, be less expensive to purchase ( 2 ) 3 day cards..
Or 1 card and a transportation pass and with individual entries.

Marie, I spent 3 nights in Naples and 4 in Sorrento in 2014, and used the 7-day Campagna ArteCard. As I remember, that specific card did not include any transportation, but maybe that has changed since then. I used the Card for free admission to 5 sites plus a couple of additional discounts, and it was worthwhile. As I remember, I used it at the Acheology Museum in Naples, the excellent ruins/museum at Paestum, the ruins at Pompeii, Herculaneum and Oplontis, and a lovely garden estate in a Ravello, maybe another site or two in Naples. I don't remember using it in Sorrento itself. You need to understand the various card options, what they include and do not include, and match that with your expected travel and sites. Tickets on the Circumvesuviana trains and local buses in the Sorrento area were very low-priced, as I remember.
