Calling All Sorrento Experts! :)

We want to stay in Sorrento for 4 nights in September, I'm going through Rick's book and am having trouble coming up with a hotel that makes me say "yes! that's the one" ... we would like a boutique hotel with some Italian charm under $200 a night, either in town or on Via Capo .. thanks kindly for any replies!

check out il Nido. I've stayed here for the past 10 years or so. the restaurant is getting great reviews - it's my favorite food in Sorrento. The owner and family are more than gracious. The views are unbeatable.

I don't know if this one fits in your budget. We stayed at the Hotel Antiche Mura ,early November last year for way under that price. It is perfectly located in town, very near train station. Absolutely beautiful facilities ,with the nicest breakfast and best customer service I have ever experienced. I can say, we were really "livin' the dream" when we stayed here! Have fun!

We’ve stayed at La Tonnarella 3 times, love it. They have a private beach and a great restaurant. Easy 10 min downhill walk into town, easy walk back or you can take the bus which is also easy.

We stayed at Tasso Suites in 2014 and liked it very much. It's right in town, so easy to walk to everything. There are rooms and suites with small kitchens. There's a small lift if you don't want to climb a few flight of stairs. They offered a voucher for an included breakfast at a restaurant around the corner, which was very nice. Not sure if they're doing that now. I would stay there again.

We stayed at Hotel Bristol in Sorrento last March for 4 nights. It was outstanding. Also, on Via Capo, the Bristol was about a 10-15-minute walk downhill into the center of town. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were spotless, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. It was very highly rated on booking.com and trip advisor, and we concur. We enjoyed a glass of wine and some snacks on our balcony each afternoon (there are lots of places to buy wine in town), relaxing after a day of running around and enjoying the view before eventually heading to dinner. Of course, the return walk was uphill, but not a killer. The Superior Room with Balcony and Sea View, including breakfast, was 170 Euros/night in late March. Regardless of which hotel you decide on, if it is on Via Capo, book a room with a balcony and view of the Bay of Naples - it is absolutely spectacular, with Vesuvius in the distance.

we loved everything about the Hotel Plaza..the rooftop infinity pool, the sax player at night on the rooftop bar/lounge area, the comfortable bed and sheets, soft towels, unbelievable breakfast and next door to Aniche Mura. close to the main piazza but the soundproof glass doors and windows kept all the noise out. Also, Aurora pizza/restaurant across the street....delicious take away pizzas we ate on our balcony and a great fruit place next door.
