Cafe in San Marco Plaza

Could someone suggest a cafe in St Mark's square- other than Caffe Florian, where one could have a reasonble priced lunch?

What do you consider reasonable? If you are eating in a main tourist area you'll find all the restaurants overpriced. They charge more because tourists will pay more to sit in the square while they eat. I would go a few blocks away and find a cafe in a quieter square. Chances are they will have better food for less money. Donna

Nope, in the square they are all much of a muchness and very similar with equally similar astronomic prices. If you want a reasonably priced lunch you will need to be a few calles off the square.

Agree with all that is said. If you want the experience you have to pay the price. If you go, do it in the evenings and listen to the music.

I'd suggest having a cup of coffe or a glass of wine, depending on time of day, to experience the square, music and people watching. Then either before or after, wander a couple blocks off the square and look for a little Pizzaria for a slice of pizza that you can eat while you wander through the streets.
