How much time should I allow for Collosseum to Forum to Palatine Hill To Capital Hill to Pantheon?

This is almost an impossible question to answer. The answer really depends on how interested you are in these sites and how much time you wish to dedicate to them. I've spent over an hour inside the colosseum and twice that in the forum. The palatine hill is huge and I still have not seen it all. I would say, at the least, give yourself an hour for each site, more if you have it. These sites are very big with lots to see. There are some really great walking tours of the forum you might want to look into. These will give you lots of information and keep you going. Try pocketvox.com. Donna

Byron:
I'd allow half a day plus time for a break/lunch. It's not that the distance covered is so great, it's that there is so much to consider. If you use Rick Steves' self-guided tours, both audio and written, you will be able to take in all that history, and it takes some time. We took a guided tour of the first three sites and it was almost 4 hours. If you start at the Colosseum, proceed to the Palatine Hill, then down into the Forum, climbing at the end to the Campidoglio (Capitol Hill). You might want to take advantage to going up into the Vittorio Emmanuel Monument and the "Elevator in the Sky" before you go out onto the Campidoglio. Faulous view, especially shortly before sunset. From the Campidoglio to the Pantheon is a 10-15 minute walk. It closes at 18:30, but better to see inside early anyway. Seeing the Capitoline Museum would be a separate activity of 1-2 hours, IMHO. Also, the Pantheon is amazing in the morning when it opens (09:00). Very few people there. You can also see the Trevi without crowds early. We were there at 07:30 one day, then to Tazzo d'Oro for breakfast and the Pantheon and opening. Magical!
