Buying Wines and Limoncello online?

Hello yet again, Does anyone know of a good online site that sells Italian wines and Limoncello that ship to the U.S.? Unfortunately we didn't have the room for us to bring some back. Thanks for your help! Robert

There are some places you can purchase from within Italy, however I would suggest looking in the US first and not deal with potential time and customs constraints as well as transaction fees for paying in euros. Check local liquor stores for Limoncello, we have been pleasantly surprised by some of the ones we've found. Even US sites like bevmo.com have both Limoncello and a wide variety of Italian wines. There are more specialized importers as well if you want to buy specific brands or varietals. For any wines, make sure you let them sit after shipping for a while and in a good environment or you may be unpleasantly surprised by some of the things bottle shock and local heat may have done to them if you open them the night they arrive. We always have a bottle of Limoncello in our freezer and a backup for when we start to run low. My personal favorite is to shop at local stores that let us taste first to see what we like.

If you have a Trader Joe's in your area they carry a true Limoncello from Sorrento.

Santa Fe certainly has wine shops that will carry Italian wines and limoncello is easy to find in liquor stores. A few hints, when visiting Italy write down the wines you drink if you like them (both the bottler or estate and the type). You probably won't find the estate but most likely you can find the same type. If visiting wineries, they will often ship bottles for you. You can also google the wines you like and may be lucky enough to find a domestic distributor that will ship to NM.
