buying tickets online for Florence Museums

hi!

I'm finding sites that look official but prices vary wildly!

What is the BEST site to buy tickets online for Uffizi and Accademia?
What is the REAL price of admission? 8 euros or up to 23 euros???

thanks-
Marie

Here's Rick's page on the subject, which has links to the official sites and the resellers: http://www.ricksteves.com/watch-read-listen/read/articles/making-museum-reservations-in-florence

The site torahweaver listed is the official site. However, while it is not a tour, you do indeed get "skip the line" entry with them. You merely have to swap your voucher for a ticket; this just takes a few minutes, and you do not have to wait in the ticket-buyers line (that's the long one you want to be able to skip).

Tickets purchased on the b-ticket website are skip-the-line although you're required to choose a time slot. And yes, that's the 'official' website. Even with skip-the-line there can sometimes be a short wait if the museum is filled to capacity.

Just bought tickets on the web site that all the other writers suggest. Very easy no problems at all. If you look in the Rick Steves Italy guide book he lists all those web sites for almost every place you need tickets for.

Marie, the normal price for either museum on b-ticket is 8 euro + 4 euro reservation fee.
Depending on the dates you're booking, special exhibitions at either of them will kick up the price. For instance, b-tickets reservations for visiting the Uffizi through May 24 are 16.50 because of the Gherardo delle Notti show: base price is 12.50 + 4 euro reservation fee. The website will note if they have something extra going on which increases the cost.

I bought THe Accademia tickets on the official website which suggested by R.Steves' site. It has been 5 days, I still received no confirmation or voucher for the tickets. I also tried to call but the line was busy. I did print the page which was following after my final payment. THis page showed my CUSTOMER # and my ORDER # and tickets (time + dated + Seat # which i do not know what is Seat # mean). Do you think I should be okay? Please share your experience whether you did not have a voucher and it was okay to enter the Gallery with all the listed info. on hand? Thank you so much for all your helpful input.

Seat number means nothing, the reservation service is the same one that sells event tickets, when seat numbers matter.

Thanks Zoe about the seat number explanation. Does anyone know how long or how soon we would be receiving the confirmation voucher for the The Accademia tickets purchased online? thanks

I bought uffizi tickets from b-ticket.com which is the same official website that also sells the Academia tickets. I received the email confirmation and voucher within minutes of completing the payments.

I also received my confirmation immediately (less than 2 minutes) after making and paying for the reservation.
