buying tickets for the Colosseum and Forum in advance of my trip

My huband and I are going to Italy the last week of March. Should I buy our tickets for the Collosseum and Forum online before we go or will I be able to buy tickets once we get there? Also, will I be able to book tours when I arrive or should that be done in advance too?

Buy a combo ticket at the Forum when you arrive. As for tours, I highly recommend a tour of the Vatican Museum (go on line). Get one that has a limited group size with an English (maybe even French) speaking guide who has majored in art. I do book these on-line ahead of time to insure a spot at my preferred time. Well worth the expense. If you are going to the Villa Borghese (and why would you not!!!) you will need advance reservations (something else I purchase on line from home). Take a taxi - no tour required. There will frequently be a line going down to the basement but that is for checking bags. Scoot around that and redeem your voucher for a ticket (to your left I believe). What other tours were you interested in?

You can do either, buy tickets when you get there or buy before you get there. I prefer to buy before I get there instead of going to the forum to get my tickets. http://www.ticketclic.it/Gb/HTML/musei/colosseo.cfm For tours, it really depends on the ones you wish to take. If you're thinking of a tour of the Vatican museums I would book that before you leave to guarantee a spot. http://biglietteriamusei.vatican.va/musei/tickets/do?weblang=en&do Donna
