Buying Florence museum tickets - particularly the Pitti Palace

Hi: We'll be in Italy in March April 2011, and I've been looking at three different websites that sell tickets to the Uffizi and other Florence museums. I'm fairly confused now, and I have two specific questions: 1. None of the websites is offering tickets for sale farther in the future than December 31, 2010. Since visitors are encouraged to buy tickets months in advance, can anyone explain this? When will tickets for March be available online? 2. I think we would like to buy the 3-day tickets for the entire Pitti Palace complex, which one site mentioned are available for 11.50E. But none of the three websites offer these tickets for sale. The only tickets for sale online seem to be the 8.45E combo tickets for the Palatine and Modern Art galleries. Can't the all-inclusive, 3-day tickets be purchased online? Does anyone recommend purchasing those tickets? Thanks for your help; this is a much more confusing trip to plan than our trips to England and France, it seems.

My husband and I were at the Pitti this afternoon. There was no crowd, none, maybe we saw a dozen people tops. The tickets were 12 euros each for everything in one day. No multiple-day tickets were advertised. The museum has a better collection than what we also saw today at the Ufizzi. We have always thought it was the best museum in Florence. By the way, the crowd was also small at the Ufizzi. We had bought tickets in advance for it and for Academia. Not necessary today. Our hotel staff said it would not be crowded in town till mid-April. We were in Rome last week and found big crowds everywhere, but not in Florence. It is absolutely lovely here!

Agreed. There's no way you'll have trouble getting tickets to the Pitti Palace in March/April. It's just not that popular, maybe because it's a little off the beaten path?
