Buying ATAC passes at FCO

I want to buy the CIRS 7 day pass when we arrive at FCO so we can use it for the COTRAL bus to Ostia Lido, where we will be spending our first night. I can't tell from the ATAC website if/where those are sold at FCO itself. Does anyone here know? (FWIW, the CIRS pass is a transit-only pass, good for 7 days. No museums included.)

Hi Michael - not sure if got an answer to this question, but from my experience there was not a way to buy those passes at FCO, and more than likely because the forms of transportation getting you to the airport are not covered by any of the passes. If you are going to Ostio Lido, I guess the best way would be to take the regional train (NOT the Leonardo Express) to the Ostiense station, where you will find the Piramide stop on the Metro B line and the beginning of the Lido train line. You could go to a tabacchi station there and get your pass and then proceed to Ostia. As a sidenote, I dont think tabacchi sell passes after the 6th of the month. You have to go to one of the offical ATAC stores.
If I am incorrect, please don't hesitate to correct me, as this will be my plan come September (we are likewise staying in Ostia).

Thanks for the response. Here's my plan B if I can't buy the CIRS pass at FCO: I'll buy a Cotral bus ticket at the tabacchi at FCO to get to Ostia Lido. There's a bus that runs to within a couple of blocks of our hotel. Then I should be able to buy the CIRS pass at the TI in Ostia. I hope that what you've read about "no passes after the 6th of the month" is only for monthly passes. That would make more sense. And FWIW, after I sit down and figure out which museums we do want to visit, I may just end up getting us the Roma Piu' pass instead. So many things to figure out. :-)

Oops Michael - I guess that 6th of the month thing is only for the monthly pass! Sorry! Did you find the bus that takes you from the airport to Ostia on the ATAC website or the Cotral S.P.A. website? It sounds like something I would need to know! Thanks!

Hey, Monique. It's Cotral bus #A3002. Apparently you catch it at the police station at FCO and ride it in to Lido di Ostia. I've got a printout of the map, but I'm not sure where I found it online. I hope that's helpful.
