I searched on kayak as recommended. I found a flight from SFO-Rome and then returning from Venice for roughly $800 (British Airlines/ American Airlines) if we buy from Vayama.com. I looked on the American Airlines website and the flights are almost $1200. What am I missing? Seems too good to be true.

have no personal experience. I buy from the airline
Look on TripAdvisor for all the complaints abou Vayama.
Thank you!
We've bought tickets from Vayama once. They were Virgin Atlantic tickets and were significantly cheaper than buying from the airline. They were for the Upper Class cabin and were coded 'Z' which means that they are the most heavily discounted tickets and not eligible for some of the perks that full price tickets attract. Had we paid full price the airline would have offered a chauffeur service to and from the airport however the savings were such that this was not an issue, we simply got a taxi instead. No problems with the tickets at all however I'm only one experience and I haven't read about any of the complaints that others have had.
I probably wouldn't use them again or any other third party simply due to the repercussions if a flight is delayed or schedules change.
they horrible change policies, not to mention any airline fees that may be added. Be sure you are able to make that flight!
I only bought once through Vayama. It was a very awkward process that involved speaking over the phone to people who did not have a very good command of the English language. I also recall that I didn't get confirmation of my tickets for longer than normal, almost a week, and I had to call them to make sure they were being purchased. The tickets were cheaper but it wasn't worth the uncertainty and aggravation.
