I have read conflicting information about purchasing a 3 day Campania Artecard in Salerno, Italy. On one hand I read that it can be purchased at the port; on the other I read that it isn't available anywhere in Salerno. We will be taking the fast train from Rome to Salerno, so that is where we want to buy this card for touring the Campania region. Has anyone been able to purchase this in Salerno recently? Thank you for any info.

That is SUCH a good question.....so we were wondering the same thing, since I believe that you can get it at Napoli Centrale or any of the sites...this is what Napoli unplugged says:

I was worried that I couldn't get it anywhere before I headed to Paestum for the first of my trips (which I would be out money for the regionale to get there) and then they would be out of them (I have heard that that has happened) and then my wonderful savings plans would be ruined!
I emailed our B&B owner with my problem, and she said that she would figure it all out, and even buy it for us before we arrived.....so your hotel/host might be of help there!

Also, the information is not clear. Rick's book says the Campania card is good for two major archeological sites while the website for the card doesn't mention a restriction. Also, is it good for unlimited Circumvesuvio train trips?

On the Unica Campania website, Salerno is listed as a point of purchase (probably at the train station), the Tutta la Regione Artecard should be available there, if not, it is for sale at any of the sites where you can use it.

wow, I just looked up the points of sale in Salerno and WOW....there are a lot! It just looks like its wherever you can get normal bus tickets, at any tabacchi....

This page says that 2 site entrances are covered by the 3-day card and the rest that you visit are discounted 50%: http://www.campaniartecard.it/artecard_Regione.cfm
