Hi, Is the Roma Pass worth purchasing? We plan to use it only for the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill & the Colosseum, and a metro ride or two. Or, would it be best just to purchase the combo ticket at the Forum for the Forum & the Colosseum? Thanks for the advice!
You get two sites for included in cost of the pass and then discounts after that, plus three days worth of public transit. Forum/Colosseum/Palantine all count as one ticket so you really should go to a second site because you paid for it. If all you can do is the Forum/Colosseum it may not be worth it.
I agree with Scott. If you're not going to be in Rome for three days, only plan on visiting one "site," and do not plan to use the bus and metro system each day.... then the Roma Pass IS NOT for you. Read these two links for more info on the Roma Pass, other discount passes in Rome, and how to avoid the lines at the Colosseo! **http://tinyurl.com/romapass-tips *** http://tinyurl.com/rome-discounts ******
Thank you for the info!
Yes it's worth it just for those sites. We used ours back to back for the Colosseum and the Forum on the same day. The rest of the time we used it for the metro and the bus system. We definitely got our money's worth out of it. I bought ours at the Termini info office (follow Rick's instruction to find it) or if you use the light rail into Rome, when you get off walk straight thru towards the front of the station and you will walk right by it on the left. Remember it's activated the minute you use it. Good luck trying to get info at the info office; they're not too helpful, they just want to charge you, hand you everything and get you out.
