Buy now or later: booking tours/guides

So we have 3 months until we leave for Italy, I have already booked 3 of our tours and am debating whether or not I am getting too ahead of myself. We were recommended to do the Foodie Tour in Rome but I was wondering if I should wait to book that tour (hoping prices go down b/c the economy) or book it right now? I e-mailed the place and they suggested at least 1 month in advance. I'm just wondering if I wait, prices will go down? As of now, no one is booked for the foodie tour in October that we plan on taking. Being a big time planner and usually planning things way in advance I'm wondering if I should just book it so it's one less thing to worry about? However, I have booked all tours for prior trip to Hawaii (years ago) where I discovered some of the prices were cheaper when we got there. I have never been to Italy so I'm not sure what to expect. I have RS book and I don't remember coming across him saying when to buy, just saw recommendations on who to go through. Any advise? Buy now (3mo's ahead) or buy in September (1mo ahead)?

Well, they're not going to lower their prices just because the exchange rate is dropping. If you are asking whether the exchange rate is going to continue to drop, then that's another question. I'll answer that if you tell me whether the stock market is going to go up or down tomorrow. There's no way to know, right? And, frankly, the amount that the exchange rate will change between now and your departure is likely so small (who knows in which direction?) that it really won't make that much difference. It's not as if you're planning to buy a car. I say book now before the tours fill up and you end up second-guessing yourself out of what you want. Happy travels.

I agree with Michael. Book now and don't worry about the price. They certainly won't come down in price and if you wait you may find yourself not being able to book anything. Donna

Are you booking the "Eating Italy" tour? We did that tour in June and it was delightful. You can "bet" on the euro coming down and wait (but it's appears to be a pretty popular tour and you may miss out. On the other hand if the euro drops five percent you've saved less than three dollars so what's the point?

@Maggie-yes that is the tour I am talking about. We went ahead and just booked it. Thanks for the feedback, I am very exciting on going to Italy... 3more months. Hopes it comes fast, looking forward to all the great tours I have booked.
