Bust to Lucca

Is there a bus from Florence airport direct to Lucca?

No. Go to Santa Maria Novella station (with VolaInBus shuttle bus or via taxi) then take train or bus from there to Lucca. The bus company that goes to Lucca is Lazzi, in Piazza Adua, on the northern side of the station.

Thank you. I had read that Vaibus has one that picks up outside the airport, but most information agrees with your reply.

I took the bus from Lucca back to Florence and it appeared that there is a stop very close to the airport. However, I think it would be very difficult to locate unless you have someone to help you find it or have used it before. It seemed to be on an island between all of the traffic lanes. You would have to cross some busy roads to get to it from the airport. The bus makes stops on the way to and from Lucca, but it is as fast or faster than the train. (I took the train to Lucca and the bus back). It is probably easier to go to the train station from the airport and either catch the train or get the bus. I believe you catch the bus on Via Nazionale.

Actually Vaibus passes by Viale Guidoni, next to the airport, but I don't know where exactly it stops. You may have to ask someone. But I've never seen it at the airport itself. See table Q01 below for timetable (stop is: Firenze via Guidoni). If you find out where the bus stop is, it might be worthwhile walking to it: http://www.vaibus.com/pdf/Extraurbano4feb13.pdf Edit: I found the bus stop. It's on Viale Guidoni between the gas station and the right turn off to go to the airport tgerminal. Basically next to the parking lot in front of the airport on the southern side of the parking lot. It's a short 50 mts. walk from the terminal, but watch out for the traffic entering the parking lot. There is n't much of a sidewalk there.

For the topic heading, I think you meant "Lucca or Bust", right? :-)
