I'm traveling to Parma on business for two weeks in September.
Can you recommend day trips for my weekend there as well as activities for my evenings?
I've been to Italy twice before so would like to visit regions/towns I haven't been to before. I've been to Milan, Genova, Lucca, Florence, Rome, Naples, Venice, and Lake Maggiore.

We took a food tour which consisted of going to the Parmigiano Reggiano factory, a Parma ham factory, a winery for lunch, and a Balsamic Vinegar house. We got to see how everything is made, and then taste it. I loved it!
Also, Bologna is about an hour away. A great little town, and the food is very different than in Parma. We actually spent 2 nights and had a great time.

I spent many weeks in Reggio Emilia for work. It's a quaint little city with a nice city center & some nice restaurants. In my opinion, it is a "real" Italian city.
