I want to see all things Verdi in June. Any suggestions? Stay in Busetto or elsewhere? How much time to be allowed?
It's Busseto! To reach it depends where you stay. Best and easiest is a day trip from Parma. Direct trains take about 30 minutes each way. If a change in Fidenza is necessary, it's a few minutes more all for 6-7euros. There is some lodging in Busseto but Parma is more convenient, and offers a lot more, including a possible Verdi opera production and visits to Parmesan cheese and prosciutto makers. To see the four Verdi-related sights in Busseto a day is enough. You can walk to them all from the station, and you could even squeeze in a visit to his nearby birthplace by taxi. Check Trenitalia.com for timetables and fares. (Put in a date within a week.)
Thank you so much. Sometimes it is hard to fugure things out for a small place.
