I am trying to figure out the bus/train schedule from San Gimignano to Florence to see if I can make a train leaving from Florence at 9:14 am. I will be staying in San Gimignano on a Thursday night and need to be in Naples and then on to Sorrento on Friday. I think the fastest way is to leave from Florence and I found a great MINI fare leaving at 9:14 am. I don't want to book it though if there are no buses or trains from San Gimignano earlier than that to get me to Florence. I found a schedule, but can't for the life of me figure out how to read it! Can anyone help?

You'll need to enter the Poggibonsi station to get the schedule to pullup. You don't mention a date when you're traveling but right now there are trains that leave at 6:49 and 7:03 that will get you into Florence before 9:14. The first train takes an hour and the second takes an hour and 24 minutes. Donna

As you probably already know, there is no train station in San Gimignano. However, there is early bus service from San G. to Poggibonsi departing at 6:00am and arriving at 6:30am. From Poggibonsi, there is a bus to the Firense Autostatione which I believe may be the SITA bus station. The SITA bus station is about 1,000' from the main Florence train station. At Poggibonsi, you can also switch to either the SITA bus or the Trenitalia train. I don't know how far away from the Trainspa bus stop these other choices may be.
