Is there an early morning bus/train from San Gimignano to Pisa (change in ? / duration)? We are looking to reach Pisa by ~10am. We plan on leaving Pisa to catch a 3pm train to Varenna (via Milan). Thx!
((just wondering)) What can you do in Pisa for 5 hours? I can account for 90 minutes, but am hard pressed to think of another 3 and a half hours. I love the tower, baptistry and the atmosphere of the Field of Miracles. Nothing else. I drove to San Giminiano so can't help with the train arrangements.
There is no train station in San Gimignano. The closest station is Poggibonsi. You have to catch a local bus to Poggibonsi, then take the train from there to Pisa. Train from Poggibonsi to Pisa takes 1 hr 20 min. Currently the earliest departure from Poggibonsi is 9:09 AM.
