Can anyone advise on the safety and practicality of transferring from the Felix bus drop off (coming from Aosta Valley) at the Fanta D’Italia/Principe bus station to the Genoa Brignole train station? We’d prefer to walk but are not sure if this area is safe/pedestrian friendly. We are ultimately trying to get to Vernazza in Cinque Terre.

Why do you want to go to Brignole train station when the Piazza Principe station is so nearby? It is a long walk to Brignole across town. You could take the Metro, as there is a station next to the Fanta D'Italia bus station and a station at Brignole train station.
PS, I assume spell check got you by changing Flixbus to Felix bus.
PPS, Most of the connections I see to Vernazza pass through both Piazza Principe and Brignole.
