I was wondering if anyone had recently taken the bus from verona to sirmione.
I am staying close to the Verona train station.
Can you purchase tickets on the bus? Also I believe you have to take the bus and than a shuttle.
What stop does one get off in Sirmione and is where is the shuttle stop.
I have tried to use the Arriva app with no luck.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Hello jensendonna26, and welcome to the forum!
I've spent some time in Verona and certainly taken buses but never taken the bus out to Sirmone.
Here is a page showing the various bus options from Verona to Sirmione and the west coast of Lake Garda.

Note that a shuttle bus may be needed to get to the tip of Sirmone if that's your intention.
Here's the shuttle information: https://brescia.arriva.it/en/shuttlebus-sirmione/
According to the shuttle page they have tap to pay options on the shuttle.
There is a taxi stand across from the bus stop at Piazza Unità D'Italia which is another option. The shuttle bus is 2e and I'm sure the taxi is more but it is a short trip if traffic isn't too bad. I've had good luck with the AppTaxi app in and around Verona.
According to the Arriva bus site you can buy onboard, at certain places and they have an app.

Unfortunately since it's Brescia based bus company it may harder to buy bus tickets ahead in Verona than it would be for a Verona based service.
This place across from the train station is supposed to sell the tickets for this bus line.

We took a bus from the Verona train station to Sirmione. I don’t remember the name of the stop where we got off there, but we were able to easily walk around town. It’s possible there is only one stop.
I took the train from Verona to Desenzano. From there, took a taxi (about 7 euros) to the ferry in the center of town which took us to Sirmione. It was a beautiful ride!
I have investigated taking the train and ferry.
The bus is just a more budget friendly option.
Thanks for your advice.
We bought tickets at Verona bus station (just outside the train station) the day before we went. It was an easy ride there and we were dropped off right in the old town.
Coming back is more challenging. There was a bus to the bus with a very long line. We ended up walking and it really is about 40 minutes. We probably should have waited.
We didn't make any arrangements until we arrived. We stayed near the train station too and it was very easy to take the bus from there.
