Bus service between Messina and Taormina

I think the usual procedure is to take the train from Messina to Taormina-Giardini (schedule at trenitalia.com) then the shuttle bus up the hill toTaormina. I think I just paid the bus driver.

It is possible that there is no bus service on Sunday - why not take the train?

I haven't been able to find any train service except after 5 PM on Sunday so far...

Check train schedules before June 12, the schedule adjustment date. There's usually not much change. Only the faster-train services are published past that date at this time. I also would particularly expect bus schedules to be published for fall, but September could still fall under a summer schedule.
