Travelling end of Aug 2011. Need schedule on Marrozzi & Curreri. Do they run on Sat & Sun & times please.... Thanks
The schedules are sure to change within the year. I would wait until just a few months out before checking the schedules. Donna
Here's the current schedule: Marozzi buses depart from Tiburtina at 07:00 and 15:00 Monday-Saturday and at 07:00 on Sundays. Curreri buses depart from Tiburtina at 14:00 Monday-Saturday. No service on Sunday.
Thansk so much. I was having trouble figuring out the sites....[about weekends]. Has anyone tried these lines in Aug.? Are they air-conditioned ? Also Is there a bathroom? I believe the trip takes about 31/2 hrs[INVALID]Correct. Appreciate the help.....
People who have taken this bus have stated that there is no w/c, but that the bus does stop along the way at a rest area along the highway. I don't know whether this information applies to both operators. BTW, the Marozzi bus at 7:00 a.m. (June through September only) continues to Positano, Praiano and Amalfi after stopping in Sorrento. Both companies depart from the Tiburtina bus station, which is connected by train to Fiumicino Airport. Travellers whose destination is Salerno may be interested to know that there is a direct bus from Rome Fiumicino Airport at 15:20, but it's not a daily service (four hours; 15 Euros). www.buonocore-group.it
I am staying in Meta de Sorrentino... Does anyone know train schedule to & from Rome to Meta.... Week & weekend times please. BOTH THE MAROZZI & CURRERI lines. Thanks
If I'm in Positano and I want to take the Marrozzi or Curreri bus to Rome, do I have to pick the bus up in Sorrento or can I take it from Positano?
From June through September ONLY, there is a Marozzi coach from Positano daily at 16:10 arriving at Roma Tiburtina at 21:00. From Tiburtina, you can take the Rome subway to reach other parts of the city. One-way fare is 20.50 Euros. The other Marozzi bus to Roma Tiburtina, plus the sole Curreri bus to Roma Tiburtina, both depart Sorrento too early in the morning to allow a useful connection by SITA bus from Positano. You'd need to arrange a private transfer in order to connect to these two early morning buses (which run daily except Sunday). If you prefer to take public transportation earlier in the day from Positano to Rome, your other options are: (1) SITA bus to Sorrento; Circumvesuviana commuter train to Napoli Centrale; Trenitalia AV, ES or IC train to Roma Termini; or (2) Metro del Mare hydrofoil (through October 8 ONLY) to Napoli Beverello; bus or taxi to Napoli Centrale; Trenitalia train to Roma Termini.
Going to META? The Curreri bus from Roma Tiburtina (daily except Sunday at 14:00) takes you direct to META (arrives at 17:20) for 16 euros. Otherwise, take Trenitalia from Roma Termini to Napoli Centrale and connect to the Circumvesuviana commuter rail direct to META (this is the same line which terminates in Sorrento 5 minutes later). It does not appear that the Marozzi bus (departure Roma Tiburtina at 15:00 daily except Sunday) stops at Meta, but I'm not 100% certain. It's possible that Marozzi does in fact stop at Meta before terminating in Sorrento, but this is not indicated on their website. Meta is otherwise connected to Sorrento by both the Circumvesuviana rail and the EAVBUS bus line Linea "A". The fare for tourists between Sorrento and Meta is 2.40 Euros (UNICO COSTIERA 45-minute ticket).
