What is the easiest and most economical way to get from Grand Hotel Bristol at Stresa to Malpensa airport? Is Alibus reliable and is it direct to the airport without a transfer in Milan?

The bus suggested above is probably the most convenient solution.
If the bus times don’t work for you, the best train alternative entails the following:
- Train from Stresa to Gallarate (35 min for 5€ pp)
- Taxi from Gallarate to Malpensa (15 min for approximately 30€). Alternatively there is a local bus that covers the distance from Gallarate to the airport in a little longer, but for very little money.
It is also possible to go only by train (no taxi from Gallarate). In that case, instead to getting off at Gallarate you would stay on the train till Busto Arsizio. Once at Busto Arsizio you would switch to the Malpensa Express train to the airport. The entire cost would be under 10€ but the trip entails some backtracking therefore it’s 1h20min long, instead of under one hour with the previous solution.
