We are thinking of going to Siena from Rome and spend one night in Siena before heading to Florence. There is a 3 hour bus direct from Rome to Siena. Has anyone taken this bus? Is it more convenient than the train as I heard that the bus will take you to the city centre. Also does the bus have any place for luggage as we will have two pieces of luggages and two small bags.
Yes, I have - Sena Bus. They depart from outside Tiburtina. It is 3 hours, they go direct to Siena/il centro, and there is room for luggage. Here is the link:

Lots of good hill town viewing along the way.
The bus stop is just outside the Tiburtina train station which is the 2nd largest in Rome. From Rome Termini, you go downstairs to the metro lines and take the metro line B to Rebibbia. Tiburtina is the fourth stop. The bus does drop you off at the city wall which is a lot closer than the train station.
The bus station is to the right of the Tiburtina train station. I would purchase your tickets early. A one way ticket is 20 euros and it took 3 hours.
