We want to take the bus down the Almalfi Coast from Sorrento. If we get out at Positano to sightsee then get back on the bus to go to Amalfi, won't it be hard to get a seat on the right? If we stop in Positano on the way back instead, it sounds like it's hard to get a bus, because they are already filled with people from Almalfi. Which is preferable?

Of course you want to be on the right from Sorrento. The crowding depneds on the time of day and the week. In the summer you can also take ferries/

We took bus from Sorrento last year late June, mid day. Had no problem getting on and seats on right. Perhaps because we got to the bus stop about 20 minutes before departure. Be sure to get off at the second Positano stop or your will have to take a local bus into town. The walk from the second bus stop is all down hill, very easy. The only problem with the bus was actually getting off the bus. Crowds kept pushing to get on, finally I grabbed my daughter's arm and shoved our way off. We did not have problem getting bus back from Positano, it was crowded but not too bad.
