Has anyone taken the ATVO bus from Mestre train station to Marco Polo airport? I have looked at the summer schedule which indicates that they run approx every 20 minutes and the trip is approx 20 minutes long. Can you buy a ticket on the bus?
Here is some information about where you can buy the bus tickets:
- http://www.atvo.it/index.php?lang=en&area=23&menuid=35
Scroll most of the way down when reading the 2nd link & you will find a list of places where you can buy the bus tickets
in Venice &/or Mestre
There’s a bus station outside the Mestre train station at the eastern end – if you look at Mestre station on Google maps then do a satellite view and zoom in on the right hand end you’ll see the bus stop.
There’s a ticket office there to buy your ticket and you just wait till the bus you want comes along. Do a street view and you’ll see it clearer.
Word of caution load your own bags and make sure they go under and along way across the bus - and then once you are on board keep looking at the baggage area to make sure your bags don’t reappear. The alternative is to wait till last to load them just before the driver closes the luggage doors.
Thanks for your help!
