Will we need to make prior reservations for day trips from Lucca to these towns? We will be there in September.
The bus is proabably the nicest and least expensive way to travel to Pisa and Florence from Lucca. But, for backup, there is also the train. No seat reservations permitted for the Regionale trains that make these runs. Just buy your ticket 1-2 days in advance and you're fine. The ticket is good for 60 days for any run shown on the ticket as long as it's on a Regionale train. Just make sure to validate the ticket at the little yellow box in the train station before boarding.
Not at all.
Thank you Doug!
We appreciate the help!!!
We took the bus from Lucca to Florence. The ride was about an hour and dropped us off at the train station in Florence. An easy walk to the main sites of Florence.
Thanks for info Jane!
