Bus Chioggia to Padua, city center

We are leaving a cruise tomorrow (Sunday) at about 9am and going to Padua. I think I have a general idea of what we need to do. I’ve been looking at the Trenitalia app which includes buses. I think my closest stop is via Naccari. I’m seeing busses with 1 or 2 transfers. I’m hoping someone can confirm my findings, and if there are more efficient/easier routes to Padua, we are certainly open to that. Lastly, should we purchase the tickets via the app or can the bus driver sell tickets?

Thank you

Looks like the E005V bus goes every half hour or so and costs 5.70 EUR. Also goes from Chioggia FS (former train station. The bus changes number to E005Z at Piove di Sacco, but does not appear to have to change busses.

The bus station in Padua is next to the train station and the tram line that runs through the historic center of Padua. Tickets for the tram are at the tourist office on the side of the station.

Thank you, Sam. You are always so helpful and knowledgeable.

Does anyone know if I can buy the tickets on the bus?

In my experience, you can buy tickets on Italian busses, perhaps with a small surcharge. The bus stop at via Naccarri is just that. A bus stop with a shelter on a residential street.

PS, there is a Tabaccheria about 2 blocks away at 2 via Naccari that sells tickets.

Thanks a bunch Sam. We are in Padua with no drama getting here. Wanted to be quite sure we knew what we were doing. Many trains were cancelled today due to strikes and tomorrow bus employees are striking. People are struggling to get places.

Good to hear.

PS Did you download the app to buy tickets, buy from the driver, or from the Tabbaccheria?
