I plan on visiting Murano and Burano. If you have been to Burano or Murano, how much time did you spend at each island?
Can these islands be visited in one day or separate trips for each island?
Thanks :)

We have usually left Venice for Murano a bit after breakfast, looked around at shops in Murano. We have lunch in Murano and then take the vaporetto to Burano.
After Burano, you could also take the boat to Torcello then head back to Venice. One should be sufficient to do all three or just the two.
I've been to both, but I like Burano better. It is far more picturesque. Murano is an industrial island afterall. I also didn't like the fact that it felt like a tourist trap with the glass factories hawking their goods. Burano is very beautiful and very easily seen in a short time, however, it does take quite a long time to get there. If you want to see both, you should do it in one day.
I agree with the suggestion to do both in one day and throw in Torcello after Burano. You'll have gone that far by that point, and I found it fascinating to tour the almost competely undeveloped island of Torcello, going into the old medieval church with some amazing mosaics.
I'm pretty sure the RS Venice book has an itinerary for a day-long tour of the islands, including San Michele (the cemetery island right next to Venice).
We visited both Murano & Burano in a day & I wish we had also visited Torcello. I think the three can easily be combined into one day. I definitely preferred Burano over Murano but if it's your first trip, the glass blowing experience is interesting. I'm more into photography and Burano offered wonderful photo ops. Have a wonderful trip.
Thank you, everyone. This is my second trip to Venice, and I am excited to visit the other islands.
