Yikes, last minute help. My daughter and 2 friends will be in Rome for 2 nights, hoping to stay near major sites for under $200. Any recommendations? Many thanks!
What month?
maybe check out VRBO or AirBnB - those could be very cost effective.
monasterystays.com. Most have triples
Follow Robert's advise and seek an apartment rental.
I can suggest decent hotels for about 150 euro per room, but if you need 2 rooms then it's double that.
If you travel outside of summer then it's easy to find rooms for about 100/night.
They'll be in Rome in two or 3 weeks from now! Ugh.
Thank you for those great suggestions- been looking Airbnb but hadn't heard of monastery stays!
I'd also suggest checking booking.com, where they'll find some apartments listed as well as hotels. Needing only two nights will probably make it easier--though they'll have to be very careful about cleaning fees as they consider apartments. I've found the reviews on booking.com to be generally reliable, because you can't leave a review unless you've stayed at the property.
