Budget Place in Rome with early Check-out

While in Rome I am Looking for a budget friendly place to stay that is near termini station. I have to be at fiumicino airport for a 715 am departing flight. Places I am looking up do not have a early enough check out window for me to get to the airport. Suggestions? Do places stick to their check out windows or will they make exceptions for those that need to leave earlier?

I pay my bill the night before departure and leave the key if the desk is not staffed when I need to leave. I also have the hotel reserve a taxi for me for the morning I leave if trains aren't running yet. You will miss breakfast, just make sure you are checked out the night before.

I have often paid my bill the night before when I wanted to leave early in the morning. Breakfast at the airport?

Hotel Sonya is one of various budget-friendly hotels near Termini. It is about 3 blocks away and is often used by RS tour groups. However, given how early you need to be at the airport, I expect you will need to go by taxi, and in that case it does not matter much where in Rome your hotel is located.

If you want "budget", you could perhaps use a Hostel. There are a couple of good ones close to Termini, but of course the cheapest rooms are on Dorms which means "communal living".

RonInRome.com covers just about every facet of travel in this great city--including accommodations. I suggest you look there for properties close to the Termini.

Hotel Aberdeen is within walking distance of Termini, and is a good value. I think we paid under 70 euro a night there this last March. And they arranged a taxi to take us straight to FCO, so we didn't have the stress of making the train/airport connection for our early morning flight. I think the taxi was about 45 euro. Or, of course, you can just walk to Termini and catch the Leonardo Express. The hotel is in a great location, very quiet, with a good breakfast and a helpful staff.

My budget haunt may serve you. Inside Termini, walk to the big green neon Plus sign marking the Farmacia near Track 1, walk thru that indoor/outdoor hallway to the Via Marsala side of Termini, cross the street, jog a few steps right to the corner of Via Milazzo and walk a few steps to the manager's office at Via Milazzo 4/6.

They manage several hotels/BandBs next door to Termini. If you want a quiet room, tell them. Or you may acquire the dubious distinction of keeping an eye on Termini all night. (Like me.) Many staffers speak English and are lovely people who know customer service. Their rooms have the best mattresses I've ever had in Italy, clean, big semi-circle box showers, nice bathrooms.

Breakfast served next door every morning with homemade caffe', Italian pastries, deli meats and cheeses, homemade toast (you make that), Italian yogurt, pound cake and fruit, juices, cereal and milk, nutella, real butter, and jelly tubs. Breakfast lounge is on the second floor, pushing the 1 button gets you to the second floor (American count). Zero is the first floor.

All the buildings I've used have elevators, but be sure to check that you will have an elevator. Just remember please to close ALL the doors so the next person can use the elevator.

They will help you depart when you need to leave. Office staff is on 24/7. They may have you pay total bill a few days before you leave or at check-in, depending on your time with them.

Great WiFi in rooms and TV. Get the WiFi code at check-in.

We have checked out early from many hotels by simply paying the night before and leaving the key in the room. You need to be at the airport between 5.30 and 6 so plan on leaving the hotel via taxi around 5, 5.15.

Many travelers do leave Rome by early flight, so this issue is common and should be easily handled at most hotels. Maybe you were looking at convents or AirB&Bs with less consistent staff presence.

A few weeks ago I stayed at Taormina Hotel, which is about a 10 minute walk from the Termini station and loved it!! I'm not exactly sure what the hotel price was since it came in our package, but I would assume much less than $100/night. It was a 2 star hotel, so nothing fancy, but the reception desk was SO helpful and they spoke English (which helped a ton!!). We left early in the morning for our flight and someone was there to check us out. I would recommend telling them ahead of time that you need to leave early in the AM so a taxi can be arranged.

Not sure about checkout time, but I would recommend The Beehive. They have many different room configurations including dorms. Last time I looked, I think they listed a bed in their dorm at €30. Only a few blocks from Termini.
