Asking for positive and negative thoughts based on your recent travel to Florence about two hotels I found near the SMN Train Station- Hotel il Bargellino on Via Guelfa 8 and Hotel Boccaccio on Via Della Scala.
Other hotel recommendations that are a short walk from the train station also appreciated. ( I already checked on Hotel Pendini and Hotel Davanzati and both are sold out for my travel dates)

Last September I stayed two nights at the Hotel Adler-Cavalieri on Via della Scala.
I got it for a great price then, but I see it is pricier now.
I really liked it.
Super-nice staff, good breakfast and a spotless and cosy room.
I would definitely stay there again.
6 or so minutes walk from the train station.

If you are Ok with basic, low cost and clean accommodations....consider a monastery stay? Throughly described in a RS travel forum post by Lynda on 1.17.08 about Suore St. Elisabetta. I stayed there in 2022 and was very happy with the centralized location, close to the train station and the Duomo.
