Brunello di Montalcino wine tour

My wife and Iwill be in Italy in early June and would like to tour a winery in Montalcino. We enjoy the Brunello di Montalcino wines and would like to tour a vineyard while we are there. Our plans have us in the area on a Tuesday afternoon, does anyone have a suggestion of a winery that gives tours in Montalcino? Thanks,
Mike

I have not toured any of these wineries, but this is what I found researching for our upcoming trip. Altesino, 7 miles north of Montalcino Altesino offers tours and tastings (of a Brunello, a Rosso di Mntalcino, and a Super-Tuscan) for 10 E. (10 E = about $13.) Upon reservation, you can also have a light lunch. www.altesino.it. Daily 10am-6pm; advanced booking recommended. Castello Banfi, 12 miles south of Montalcino Banfi is American-owned. Tours (from 10 E with tasting_ take you through the state-of-the –art cellars (a 5-min. drive from the castle). www.castellobanfi.com. Poggio Antico, 2 miles south of Montalcino
Award-winning estate run by the charming Gloder-Montefiori family. The attached Ristorante di Poggio Antico is a destination in its own right, turning out top-notch "revisited" Tuscan cuisine. Tours and tastings from 10 E. (reservations requested). www.poggioantico.com. Mon-Fri 9am-1pm, 2:30-6pm.

My wife and I toured Fattoria dei Barbi and enjoyed the tour. They also have a fabulous restaurant on site. Since you're a fan of BdM, be sure to visit the Enoteca la Fortezza in Montalcino to taste. Also, the wine shop Les Barriques can ship back to the States. I shipped two cases and all arrived undamaged.
