Brunelleschi's Dome ticket time

Hello!

We are going on the 14 day tour of Europe and the tips guide page suggests making a reservation for the Brunelleschi's Dome on Day 4 at 11:30am. The website museumflorence.com, which was the website the tips page suggested using, offers tours at 11:15am or 12pm; not at 11:30am. Can you please advise which of these we should book, as we are unsure if we will be running to meet the 11:15am (based on the morning's tourings with the group) or if 12pm is too late (as the tour group will be returning to our lodgings)?

Thank you,

M

Hello mb.pl,

They make it sound like they are very strict on the timing of tickets on the website:
- Punctuality is required to allow all visitors the best experience.
- 5 minutes of delay are allowed, compared to the starting time of the visit.
and whether of not that's the case in person is unfortunately something you can't know. My experience with ticketing in Italy is that it is generally looser in person than advertised but you can't count on that.

So the safe bet is to schedule the time you know you can make rather than showing up 15 minutes late and being denied entrance.

The other thing you can do is book the Giotto Pass and climb Giotto's tower which is next to the dome and gives a view of the Duomo from height at the top. The Giotto tickets are not timed so you don't have to worry about making a specific time.

I've only climbed Giotto's tower so I can't compare the two but it is an option. Also don't miss the new Duomo museum that is very good and make sure you go to the very top.

Have a great trip,
