We are flying British Air for the first time since they put in the 24hour seating & check-in rule. We fly into Heathrow where we change for Rome. When we check in 24hr for flight from Boston 6:05 PM to Heathrow do we get to choose seat assignments for the flight to Rome at the same time or do we have to check in online 24hr before this flight and at whose time.. ours? (Boston) or British time? I'm stressing over this, combination of dealing with something new (I don't want to sit apart from my sister and I must have a window when we fly in over Albert in Hyde Park) and excitement of preparing to travel again. Therefore I will appreciate any words of wisdom everyone can offer.

When I've flown BA in the past you check into your entire itinerary at 24 hrs before the departure of your first leg.
I recommend www.seatguru.com to best pick seats
