Brindisi or Naples to Frankfurt/airports

My sister and I are traveling in June and will be ending our trip in Bari. We will need to fly back to Frankfurt and, unfortunately, times from the Bari airport to Frankfurt are not lining up. We are able to take a flight either from Brindisi (1.5 hours from Bari) or Naples (3 hours from Bari) to Frankfurt at more opportune times. Does anyone have any experience staying/flying from Brindisi? Are there any safety concerns that we should know about? This would be a small, commuter-type flight I'm assuming. I'd appreciate any tips!

Are you looking for a way to get from Bari to Frankfurt in order to catch a flight out of Frankfurt that same day? If this is the case you really should be planning to get to Frankfurt the day before your Frankfurt departure.

If not, you comments about 'times...not lining up' and 'more opportune times', leaves me completely puzzled.

Wherever you have been doing your research should show what the aircraft type is. No need to guess what sort of plane it is.

Thank you. We will be with relatives in Bari and wanted to extend our visit as long as possible, but after thinking it over, we plan to travel to Frankfurt the day before for our flight home to the US. I was curious about the safety of Brindisi in general. There's not a whole lot written about it, so I was wondering. So many places to visit in Italy, never enough time!

I think only RyanAir flies from Brindisi to Frankfurt and RyanAir only uses B737, basically the same as SouthWest.
Regarding safety I think the Brindisi airport is pretty safe. They have a long runway, almost 11000 ft long, being a military airport.
If by safety, you are referring to the city itself, I think it’s pretty safe, especially compared to large cities in Europe..
Compared to the US, I’m pretty sure if Brindisi were in the US it would rank #1 in Money magazine’s list of safest American cities. Once in a while the Sacra Corona Unita (Sacred United Crown), which is the name of the local mafia in Puglia, has some killings among members of rival families, but they never get involved in killing tourists waiting to board a plane. They have more lucrative business to take care of.
