Can anyone recommend a Brenta River cruise and are there any problems flying from the states into Verona....thanks
In June, we took the full day cruise from Padova to Venice, with stops at 3 Palladian villas. It was lovely, and the guide was very good. However, with the wisdom of hindsight, I would recommend doing the 1/2 day trip, instead. Starting at 8:30 from the Padova bus station and returning by bus through rush hour traffic from Venice made for a very long day. If you take the afternoon part, you still get to visit the villa, "Malcontenta," IMO the best, and one other. By googling Brenta cruises, we found two companies doing pretty much the same trips, at the same prices. The one we chose was called Il Burchiello (I think); and, as I recall, the choice was based on which day they went in the direction we wanted. Both have very complete information on their websites, and you can make reservations on-line.
