breakfast in milan before leaving

Trying to pick a hotel near the central station in Milan for our last night before flying home.
Wondering if we should opt for a hotel with breakfast or maybe find someplace to eat. We will be departing on Sunday from Malpense around 11 am.

Appreciate any suggestions

My colleague and I had breakfast at the airport. Little more expensive but we were past security so no worries.

You’ll need to be at airport by 8 am
I doubt you’ll find a place that serves “breakfast “ other than a coffee and pastry

if you choose a hotel with bkft make sure you can get it by 6:30 or earlier
It takes an hour to get to MXP from Milano Centrale

I’d eat at the airport where you will likely have more choice

With luggage and unknown security time constraits, I'd opt for breakast at the airport.

If it’s just one night in Milan and you’re coming from somewhere else consider the Sheraton at Malpensa. You literally walk out the hotel door into the airport terminal. There will be breakfast available in the hotel and also in the airport restaurants and takeaway places.

There's no need to be at Malpensa three hours before takeoff if one has Fast Track through business class ticketing or other means. 90 minutes should be sufficient in such a case. It certainly was ample for us.

(Edited to add Fast Track status qualifier.)

Was your flight direct to US or to another European destination?

If to US the airlines suggest 3 hours
We needed almost every minute of that

We are flying direct back to the states.

Sounds like we should opt for breakfast at the airport.

Does Malpense have the equivalent of a TSA site to see how backed up security will be?

Our flight from Malpensa was to Heathrow, where we changed to LAX.

I'm curious, ChristineH: where did your delays occur? I will say that we flew business class, which provided us fast track through Malpensa security. I'm editing my earlier response accordingly.

Osteria della Pista also has a very good restaurant for dinner. Morning shuttle to the airport (free) must be booked the night before; I believe it runs each 45 minutes, but only takes 10 minutes to reach the airport.

We just did this in October, it took about 15 minutes to check our bags, 15 minutes to get thru security and a little bit longer to get thru passport control but, of course “dependo.” There’s a variety of places to get food after you get thru all that while you wait for your gate to come up on the board.
