Boutique Hotel Planlim vs Forestis Dolomites

I’m trying to decide where to stay after staying in Cortina for two nights in the Dolomites. We plan to leave Cortina and drive to Lag di Braies- spend the afternoon there hiking around the lake and taking a boat out( Do I need to reserve in advance?)
Then drive to Val de Funes
The next two days I’m thinking about doing a EBike Winery tour that starts in Chiusa.
The following day we plan to take a cable car to Seceda , rent bikes and head to Alpe di Suisi
Does this sound like a good plan and where would you stay? We are going mid September. Do I want to be in the town of Ortisei or stay at Forestis Dolomites which appears more remote with gorgeous scenery
It’s more expensive and I’m wondering if it’s worth it. Any info you can give about Dolomites would be appreciated!

Ciao. We were in the Dolomites two weeks ago-- my family of four (tween daughters & husband) and my parents (in their 70s). We stayed in Ortisei and LOVED it (our first time there). Our small, family-run hotel (Hotel Grones -- cannot say enough good things about it -- https://www.hotelgrones.com/en/) was the perfect location; the owners kind and friendly. Food was AMAZING (we selected breakfast and 1/2 board/dinner for our stay). From Hotel Grones we were about a five-minute walk to the Seceda lifts and about a 12-minute walk to the Alpe di Suisi gondola. We got super lucky on the weather and did a hike and meal up on Seceda one day and a full day up on Alpe di Suisi our second day.

Our family goals for our entire trip were gourmet food and fantastic rooms. Hotel Grones did not disappoint. My parents loved coming back from hiking a bit early to sample the three different sauna types @ Grones and then enjoy wine out on the terrace. My kids loved the views from the room and the neighborhood cats on the short walk to Ortisei village. My husband and I loved that everything was walkable from the hotel to both the high mountain lifts and the town.

Good luck with your decisions!
