Borghese Tickets now on sale for Aug-October

The Borghese Gallery tickets for dates beyond July 31 , 2022 finally became available this morning. It’s been 2 months since anything later than July 31 was available on the Website, https://www.tosc.it/en/ , and even now, tickets are available only through October 23. Book ASAP - they tend to sell out, especially for morning and sadly afternoons. Click on the picture in the upper left corner for the Borghese. Website’s a mix of English and Italian, but it’s fairly easy to navigate. They really want you to purchase the insurance, for a refund if you can’t make your visit.

They’re selling tickets for every hour, not every 2 hours, so it’ll be interesting to see how they control the limited number of visitors, and the 2-hour visit allowance.

We'll be arriving in Rome in the afternoon on October 23rd, and I was contemplating booking tickets for the 25th or26th. Any thoughts on when those days might be opening up? We were there about 9 years ago and I'd love to re-visit, but really only if I can nab a ticket for opening time.

Great news, Cyn! Like you, I'm wondering how they're going to manage the overlapping booking slots instead of clearing the galleries completely every 2 hours?

Thank you, Cyn. I just booked two tickets for 18 September. It'll be our second trip to the gallery, and we're really looking forward to it.

Thanks, Cyn! I just booked our tickets for September.

I entered USA for my country, but the fiscal code did not auto-populate. After a bit of googling, I knew to enter EE1 in this field, and the remainder of the ticket buying process went smoothly. Hope this helps anyone else who runs into this issue.

I have been wondering how they enforce the 2 hour limit? Do they go around checking ticket times? I'm going for the first time in Dec.

roubrat, as Cyn and I said, we're not sure how they're going to manage the new overlapping time slots but in the past, yes, they went around and cleared anyone left in the galleries from the preceding time slot about 10 minutes before people booked for the next slot were allowed to enter them. It looks now like they're selling half as many tickets for those overlapping slots (180 for each instead of the previous 360 or so). Could be that they provide a different colored visitor tag for each slot so the museum staff can tell when you were supposed to have exited the galleries.

Hope we hear from someone who has experienced whatever process they've come up with!

You are (or were, anyway) expected to be there 20 minutes or so before your time slot to check in, and check into the wardrobe what can't be taken into the galleries with you. They've been known to re-sell walk-in tickets for no-shows/people late enough for their slot to be considered no-shows.

Thanks for the info, Cyn! I just bought my ticket for mid-October to ensure I got in. I wasn't able to visit this museum the last time I was in Rome, so am really excited! I opted out of the €1.50 insurance, but I guess it's a nice option to have.

We visited Borghese last month. They enforce the two-hour rule by issuing different colored wrist bands based upon your arrival time. When "your color" is up a docent politely informs you. Honestly, two hours was enough time.
