Borghese ticket site needs an account and LOTS of information?

So trying to buy tickets for the Borghese gallery and very frustrated. Using the tosc.it site, it seems to want you to create an account to buy a ticket. Unnecessary, but fair enough. But to create an account, it wants name, address, place of birth, birthdate, sex...
Really. Is this the wrong site or do people really put up with this. I wouldn't put this info in a site in my own country let alone somewhere else. Please tell me there is another way...

You have the correct website, and yes, you do have to enter your birthday and country of birth to buy tickets. I bought tickets in early May, and could find no way not to provide the information. I bought tickets four days in advance and was only able to get 8 pm -10 pm tickets. The Borghese had no tickets available for day of purchase.

I just want to add something, it may be a pain in the butt… but I would give anything to visit the Borghese gallery.
Dumb me- my only free time in Rome is a Monday- WHEN THE GALLERY IS CLOSED.

No offense to you at all.. but I say just take the hit for a once in a lifetime (possibly) chance to see some incredible life altering art. No identity theft- that’s a concern. But If it seems ok I’d definitely sign up.

I agree with Lisa
It’s a do not miss

Honestly they are not going to confirm whatever info you put in so just make something up if you are that concerned

( pretty sure they don’t require passports for admission so they can’t double check then either)

Only other way is to book thru a third party reseller/tour and take your chances

I'll hedge a guess that they may have had some issues with scalpers buying up blocks of tickets to re-sell them at a premium price. Having your personal info on file and connected to the ticket/reservation you purchased is proof that you are the legitimate holder of a ticket bought through the Borghese's ticketing site, for the price(s) listed on the site. Personally? I'd provide the info they're asking for just in case they DO ask for lots of identification to match to the purchase.

This is just a guess but I'm seeing some other museums in Europe requiring personal info as proof of legitimate ticket purchases.
