I keep seeing people say they can reserve time slots at the Borghese and pay later or use the Roma pass, but I keep getting directed to a credit card payment page. What am I missing? (I get directed to WWW.TICKETERIA.IT to make the reservation).
Unless things have changed recently you can't use the website to just get a reservation. Email your hotel and tell them you have a roma pass and ask them to get you a reservation. Tell your hotel the day and time you want to go and they will take care of it for you and don't forget to ask them to email you back the reservation code.
You can use the website to book tickets with the romapass.

Use the "click here free call" button to leave your phone number. they will call you back to make the reservation. Just tell them you will be using the romapass. That's all there is to it. You don't have to pay anything, just show your pass and your reservation number when you get to the gallery.

I just reserved my time slot for the Borghese using the telephone number on the website a couple of days ago. They took down my name, number of people in my party, and gave me a confirmation number. (I had looked and looked for how I might reserve online, too.) I'll be paying using the Roma pass as well.
Donna, I didn't see the button to which you were referring... plus, we're already on the road (but not yet in Italy). I'll try to have our vrbo landlord make the call/reservation for us. Wish it was a little more straightforward, though.
Go to the link I posted. On the left you'll see a picture of a green phone. Just click on it. It's very easy. You give them an email where you can be reached and tell them the dates and how many people you need tickets for. Let them know you're on the road so you need you confirmation in an email.

Hi Donna... huh, I don't see a green phone icon anywhere on the site... just the gray Reservations/ticket rules box, under the logo Ticketeria, and that just steps you through the process to reserve and pay. Must be my browser, or something? (using Apple Safari). In any case, our vrbo contact in Rome was able to make the local call and secure our reservations for us. Thanks for the advice-- maybe it'll work for someone else?!
Firefox works better with apple than safari. I changed a while back when I kept having problems with Safari.
That is the same box but on Firefox there is a green phone in it and it says "click here free call".
You can try this link:
http://www.galleriaborghese.it/borghese/en/einfo.htm
follow the link where it says online booking-reservation. You should see the phone on the next page. If not, I don't know how to help unless you want to email me your dates and I can make the reservation for you. As long as you don't need a credit card number I can easily enter your names, dates and number of tickets needed.
