Borghese Gallery Duration

I'm looking for Borghese Gallery tickets, however only the Intero Speciale slot (1h 15min) is available.
I read somewhere that portions of 2nd floor are closed and some works are loaned out to other museums, so maybe an hour would suffice?

The website for Palazzo Barberini and Galleria Corsini says the following:
"From 1 August to 27 October 2024, reduced for those in possession of a Galleria Borghese ticket, to be shown at the ticket office upon entry € 5.00."

Does anyone know what's the current status? Can I safely assume that not all artworks are in the Borghese Gallery and hence the Intero Speciale ticket might suffice?

If you like art and that's really the only ticket available, then that will have to do.

Would an hour 'suffice'?

Of course, the answer depends. Many scores of art historians and conservators and history scholars spend their entire professional lives without getting enough of this artwork.

OTOH, if it's hot out and you're tired and have plans for the evening, maybe an hour will be too much. Ha.

A middle example: I'm a big fan of porphyry, and the things made out of it that are on display in the Borghese and the Forum museums are entrancing enough to keep me occupied every time I visit until I am dead.

my comment above was to the earlier version of your OP;

if you aren't getting the multi-use ticket to the museums on the Forum hill that includes the Barberini and the Corsini, then you probably should get this deal b/c the buildings themselves are worth looking at and wandering around in -- esp. if the staffing is thin at the Barberini and every room is not live-guarded. [wink wink]

For me the Borghese Gallery was a sensory overload. When every inch of the building is amazing art in itself and then you add in the exhibits, well the result was a little overwhelming. I think that even if you have a shorter period of time or some exhibits are missing, you will still have a pretty intensive art experience.

That is the case if your visit is before the end of October. The upper floor (called the first floor on the museum's website) of the museum is closed for renovation. - which has been extended once if not twice - and so major works on that floor were temporarily moved to Palazzo Barberini. So, figuring regular time slots are 2 hours when the museum is fully open, your 1 hr 15 minutes should be enough if it's currently down to 1/2 size. It'll be well worth it though as, for me, anyway, the Bernini sculptures are on the open floor (ground floor) and I would have paid the ticket fee just to see those!

Do take time to take in the details of the building itself though? Especially, the ceilings and trompe l'oeil decoration in some of the rooms are just nuts. If you have the time to run over to Palazzo Barberini to see the paintings, I'd do it; that €5 ticket price is a bargain.

If, as was just discussed on the Webmaster thread, we had a thumbs up or plus one for posts I would give one to Kathy's post just above. She said just what I was thinking. spot on.

Thanks everyone, I found and booked a 2 hour slot (5-7pm) for Borghese on a different date than my preferred one.
The 1h15min slot would have sufficed too it seems, like Kathy confirmed, it's only partially open till October 27 but I wanted to keep open the possibility of visiting the gallery and still leaving early to catch the sunset.
