Thank you, everybody, for your helpful input. I’ll keep monitoring the TOSC site for September openings. Mabe that’ll be on the first of July, maybe a random date when September’s first available. As for the official Website, their IT people must have some kinks to work out.
Steven, I’ve started the first few minutes of the Part 1 video. The series will definitely be something my husband and I will be watching very soon, thank you. On our Rome trip last fall, at the end of seeing the Catacombs of Saint Sebastian, the church at that location has Bernini’s last sculpture, “Il Salvator Mundi" - a bust of Jesus with flowing robe around his upper torso. At 81 years old, Bernini was still producing a work in marble that seemed to be in motion, and that was an unexpected addition to the Catacombs visit.
It’s been nearly 10 years since my last time at the Borghese Gallery. Last fall, I couldn’t get tickets, and there was also a Damien Hirst temporary exhibit there, as well. I wonder, did people get a 2-hour limit to see whatever of the temporary and permanent exhibits they could manage, or was the Hirst show a separate time allowance? Anyway, we’ll make 2022 work, this fall.
