Borghese Gallery...trying to book tickets online...HELP

I have tried to book tickets to the Bourghese Gallery without any success. I telephoned and no one spoke English. I am able to get to the page where I enter my credit card info and nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated. We have been there before and know we need a ticket at a specific time. Used www.galleriaborghese.it as suggested in Ricks book. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you cannot book online or by phone, perhaps contact your hotel and they may be able to help you. You might also try a broker (I have used Select Italy several times), they will charge a fee for their service but you should have the voucher within a couple of minutes of booking online.

So the page where you register and enter your address, etc. went through OK?

Are you certain there is no error message on the credit card page? Sometimes it is quite small. Did you advise your credit card company that you will be making a purchase from Italy? Can you try a different computer?

I'm surprised that you found nobody to speak English when you called. I always have had one. Did you wait for the message to give you an option to press a button for English?

Credit cards are always fun on forms. Did you put in the CVV? Did you take out all the spaces? Did it want you to go through the Visa Secured website or other site for MasterCard? Is the name on the card identical to the name on the form? Did you inform your bank BEFORE the form was complete?

Did you do these attempted transactions during Italian business hours, M-F?

Hi Joanne, I've used the site that you listed and have been able to purchase tickets before for the Borghese Gallery, so check your credit card company use of your card. Or you may need to use a specific type of card - Visa instead of American Express.

I was using a Roma Pass, so the Borghese was included but you MUST have a reservation. I called and got a reservation by phone (although that meant calling pretty early from here on the west coast!). They do speak English, in my experience. Just make sure to get the reservation number info. They will have your name in their computer at the appointed time . . . arrive at least 15 minutes early!! There are usually several people hoping someone with a reservation fails to show and they will give away your slot if you are not there early. We loved the Borghese because, with the reservation system, it did not seem as crowded as other museums.

You should be there 30 minutes ahead of your appointment time - there is a gift shop and small cafe, and you will need to check anything you bring in, they will give you a small bag to carry your personal items into the gallery.

Joanne, have you tried using a different browser?

Thanks for the advise. I have done all the right things with credit card, etc. and actually did get a booking number but next to the number on the invoice it said "order canceled". I have been watching for the charge on my visa bill but none as of yet. The hotel will help me tomorrow when we get to Roma. Maybe will still have a change to get tickets and if not, have been there before but did want to visit the masters again.

Also, check to see that your credit card doesn't expire before or during the same month as when you wanted to visit Borghese.

All is well and got reservations for Borghese for tomorrow. Hotel was able to book for us. Staying at Arenula Suites near the river and live it. Fourth time to Roma and best place we have stayed. Location fantastic. Now the challenge to find the right busses for tomorrow.
