Hi: I'm confused about how to see the Borghese Gallery as one of the 2 free admissions with the Roma pass but making reservations now - without paying. I haven't gone too deeply into the Borghese website ticket process, but it looks as though it may require payment at the time I make the reservation. Is that correct? Or does the website process merely reserve the tickets for pickup and payment when you arrive at the gallery? We will be visiting in the middle of March. Thank you.
Unless things have changed recently, it isn't possible to reserve tickets via the website and use the Roma Pass. The website forces you to pay for the tickets. Instead, you'll need to call for reservations, or ask your hotel to do it for you. There is also a call-back system. Lots more information here: http://www.roninrome.com/%20transportation/galleria-borghese We opted to have our hotel make the reservation for us, and they emailed us a confirmation that we printed and took with us.
It is possible to reserve but you go to the site and use the call me back button (it's free). You give your phone number and they call you to make the reservation. Just let them know you are using the romapass. Use this website: http://www.ticketeria.it/ticketeria/borghese-regolamento-eng.asp# Donna
Hello: Thank you both very much for the information; I think I now understand how this works.
Donna is correct. You can use the Roma Pass at the Galleria Borghese. Using the call-back feature, you get a reservation code, no pre-purchase necessary. Then, upon arrival with reservation code in-hand, you can pay by credit card, cash, or ... Roma Pass. If there is a special exhibition there "may" be an additional €3 - €5.50 fee that the Roma Pass does not cover. For help on public transportation options to get to the Galleria Borghese, you might read this posting.
Hi: I have tried the "call back" procedure several times this morning - from both my office phone and my cell phone. When I answer the call, I receive a pre-recorded error message that talks about low funds . . . and then disconnects the call. Has anyone else had this problem? Somehow, it doesn't seem that this should be so difficult . . . . THANKS.
Sandy, when we were there in October, we asked our hotel to make the reservation for us. We then went to the ticket office at our reserved time and gave them our Roma Pass and they issued us our tickets. I tried going thru the website at first but when I found out our hotel can make our reservation for us, I just went for the easy way. I think you're having problems right now because it only allows you to make reservations 2 weeks in advance of the date that you want to visit.
